![]() In Angie, Kiyo, and Miu’s events Shuichi flat out says NO to what is occurring. Particularly, in contrast to characters like Angie, Kiyo, and Miu. You’ve seen this dynamic before and you’ve seen it done well. This dynamic has practically been perfected over the years. “But, when I said I wanted you to catch me… That was definitely not a lie.”Īnd yet… as time goes on… they start to think that maybe getting caught might not be so bad after all. And neither of them really wants that, because what they love most about the other IS the fact that they’re on the other side. And to actually settle down into a relationship would require either the detective to leave being a good guy behind and join the thief in their heists or for the thief to get caught and become a good guy. The stealing part doesn’t excite me as much as being pursued by you, y'know?”Ī love that perhaps won’t ever be fully realized because the thing they both love most is the chase. You’ve been chasing after me for so long. Witty banter rife with the cheesiest flirting you have ever seen. ![]() Detective intent on chasing and catching said thief. Morally gray thief that never really fully crosses the line. Knowing that, what else is there to talk about? Kokichi’s ideal is a situation rather similar to the whole, Batman/Catwoman dynamic, but gay. Most people don’t ever really expect to have to confront it in anything other than their dreams. Like the imaginary boyfriend machine in Inside Out. Because, realistically, most people don’t really prepare for that kind of situation. It’s simultaneously very funny and incredibly interesting. And even Shuichi takes a moment to pause and go, oh. And his ideal is an interesting detective that chases him around and gives him a run for his money. Because nobody really expects the fantasy dreamboat they came up with in high school to magically come to life and actually marry them.Īnd then you get to Kokichi’s event. Because they’re not supposed to be realistic. They range from a little bit to very unrealistic. This makes sense because the person you fall in love with in real life is rarely the person of your dreams. But, understandably, when you get to their love suite events, their crush isn’t really reflected back in those events. There are multiple people in this game who have canon crushes. In that, Kokichi’s ideal is literally Shuichi. What to say about this one? Well, first off, might as well address the elephant in the room. I suppose it’s just that well liked, and for good reason too! Let’s get into those reasons, shall we? Here’s Kokichi’s commentary! Time for the event that spawned countless AUs! Funny, how this is the only Love Suite that I’ve seen people consistently use for fanart/fanfic purposes. V3 Love Suite Mini Commentary: Kokichi Oma
